Privacy Policy

We collect the following information when you use DidYouSEO:

• Account information - name, email address, and (if using email/password sign-up) a hashed password
• Website data - URLs you submit for auditing, audit results, and SEO check outputs
• Usage data - pages visited, features used, credit consumption, and audit history
• Payment data - handled entirely by Creem; we never store card numbers

We use your information to:

• Provide and improve the Service
• Send transactional emails (audit results, billing receipts, alerts)
• Enforce usage limits and prevent abuse
• Respond to support requests

We do not sell your personal information to third parties.

We use session cookies to keep you signed in. We may use analytics tools (e.g. Plausible or similar privacy-friendly analytics) to understand aggregate usage patterns. We do not use advertising cookies or cross-site tracking.

We share data only with the following service providers, and only as necessary to run the Service:

• Hetzner - application and database hosting
• Creem - payment processing
• Google - OAuth sign-in (if you choose to sign in with Google)

We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. Audit results are retained for 12 months and then purged. When you delete your account, all personal data is deleted within 30 days.

Passwords are hashed with bcrypt and never stored in plain text. All data is transmitted over HTTPS. We apply row-level access controls so users can only access their own data.

You have the right to access, correct, export, or delete your personal data at any time. You can manage most data from your account Settings page. To request a full export or deletion, email us at hello@didyouseo.com.

The Service is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you via email or an in-app notice before material changes take effect.

DidYouSEO offers a Model Context Protocol (MCP) connector so AI assistants - such as Claude, ChatGPT, and Cursor - can use our SEO tools on your behalf directly inside a conversation.

• What you authorize- You connect the assistant to DidYouSEO using the same OAuth sign-in used elsewhere on the Service. This grants access only to your own account data, and you can revoke it at any time from your AI provider's connector settings.
• What data flows- When you ask an assistant to use DidYouSEO, it sends the URLs you want analyzed to us and may read your account's sites, audit results, and scores. The free tools (meta tags, robots.txt, schema, and similar) analyze only the URL you provide and require no account.
• The assistant is a third party- The AI assistant is operated by its provider (for example Anthropic or OpenAI). Anything you share in that conversation is also handled under that provider's privacy policy, which is separate from ours.

We do not receive or store your AI conversations - only the tool requests your assistant makes and the responses we return, handled the same way as the rest of your account data described above.
