We built DidYouSEO because every existing SEO tool was either too expensive, too slow, or missing AI search visibility entirely.
Why we built this
When we launched our first product, we needed to audit our own site's SEO. The standard tools - Ahrefs, Semrush, Moz - all wanted $99-139/month before we could run a single full audit. Google Search Console shows ranking data but not on-page issues. Lighthouse covers performance but not SEO, security, or AI visibility.
So we built DidYouSEO for ourselves first. 30+ SEO checks in under 30 seconds. No credit card. No 14-day trial that expires before you remember to cancel.
Then ChatGPT crossed 100 million users and we noticed something: AI search was becoming a real traffic channel, and nobody was tracking it. Users were asking ChatGPT, Gemini, and Perplexity which tools to use - and brands with no AI visibility were invisible to a growing segment of their potential customers.
We added AI visibility tracking to DidYouSEO. Still free. Still no credit card. That is still the product we are building.
