What you can ask

“Run PageSpeed Insights on https://example.com and tell me the three fixes that matter most.”
“Does https://example.com/pricing pass Core Web Vitals for real users?”
“Compare mobile and desktop performance for my homepage.”
“Check PageSpeed for these five URLs and rank them slowest first.”

PageSpeed tools

run_pagespeed_insights

Performance, accessibility, best-practices and SEO scores; lab metrics; real-user LCP, INP, CLS, FCP and TTFB (75th percentile) for the page or the whole site; and the top speed opportunities.

check_core_web_vitals

A quick mobile and desktop check of the performance score and Core Web Vitals.

  • Real-user data comes from the Chrome UX Report. Pages without enough traffic fall back to data for the whole site.
  • Lab tests can't measure INP, so real-user INP is the number to watch.
  • Results are cached for an hour, so repeated checks return quickly.

FAQ

Is there a PageSpeed Insights MCP server?

Yes. DidYouSEO's MCP server includes run_pagespeed_insights. Add https://didyouseo.com/mcp to Claude, ChatGPT or Cursor and ask for a PageSpeed report on any public URL.

Do I need a Google API key?

No. DidYouSEO calls PageSpeed Insights for you. You don't need a key or a DidYouSEO account for the PageSpeed tools.

What's the difference between lab and field data?

Lab data is one simulated visit. Field data is what real Chrome users experienced over the last 28 days, and it's what Google uses to judge Core Web Vitals.
