How to use Google Search Console with AI: 7 prompts
Each of these calls your real GSC data through the MCP connector — built on the open Model Context Protocol standard — and hands you back an answer you can act on today. Under the hood it draws on three things: your query performance, a page-level cannibalization check, and a period-over-period comparison — so the analysis is grounded in real Search Console numbers, not guesses. 1. Find your quick-win keywords
The highest-ROI move in SEO: pages ranking on page two for terms with real demand. A nudge moves them onto page one.

List the keywords ranking in positions 5-15 with the most impressions -
these are my quick wins. For each, tell me the page that ranks and one thing
I could improve.
2. Catch pages losing clicks (content decay)
Traffic rarely falls off a cliff; it erodes. Catching content decay early is far cheaper than reviving a dead page.
Compare my Search Console clicks for the last 90 days against the 90 days
before that. Which queries lost the most clicks? Flag anything
that dropped more than 30% so I can refresh it.
3. Fix high-impression, low-CTR queries
If a query shows up a lot but nobody clicks, the problem is usually your title or meta description — not your ranking. Given that click-through rate drops fast below the top positions, per studies like the Advanced Web Ranking CTR data and Backlinko's CTR analysis, a better snippet can win clicks without a single ranking change.
From my Search Console data, find queries with high impressions but a
click-through rate below 2% where I rank in the top 10. For each, suggest a
sharper title tag and meta description that would earn more clicks.
4. Turn queries into content ideas
Search Console shows the questions people already associate with you — including ones you have no dedicated page for. That's a content plan hiding in plain sight.
Look at my Search Console queries for https://example.com. Group them into
topics, and flag any topic getting impressions where I don't have a dedicated
page. Suggest 5 new articles based on the biggest gaps.
5. Spot keyword cannibalization
When several of your pages surface for the same query, they split clicks and confuse Google. Search Console is where you catch it — and a cannibalization check is the fix.
Using my Search Console data, find queries where more than one of my pages
appears in the results. For each, tell me which page performs best so I can
consolidate the rest into it.
6. See what actually changed
Instead of a vague "traffic feels down," get the specific movers.
Summarize what changed in my Search Console data over the last 28 days versus
the previous 28: biggest gains and losses in clicks, any queries that jumped
or dropped in position, and your best guess at why.
7. Build a content brief from a winning query
Found a query worth doubling down on? Have the assistant turn it into a brief on the spot.

The one rule: verify before you ship
AI is doing the reading and drafting, not the deciding. Two things to keep in mind: Search Console data lags about three days, so "today" isn't in it yet; and the assistant can misread a trend or over-claim a cause. Treat its output as a prioritized shortlist you confirm — the same discipline that applies to any SEO work with AI. The official Search Console performance report is the source of truth when a number looks off.
